"Creating a united global vision"

OLA! Apa khabar? Hi everyone I'm Claire, I'm a final year medical student at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. In this last year before I'm released into the world of Internship, I'm hoping to achieve a few dreams of mine, whilst broadening my medical outlook and gaining a better appreciation of health care on a global scale. 

I went into medical school with two very specific goals in mind;

1. My ultimate passion and dream  is to work for Medecins sans frontieres - " Doctors without borders"  -I have a very strong interest in Global Health and how we can facilitate and implement sustainable health care and development in developing nations

2.I would like to ultimately end up being a Pediatric Cardiothoracic surgeon ( fully open to accepting any changes along the way  but 3/4's the way through  Med and I'm still aiming for this)

  It's with these two goals in mind that I'm setting out this year and have organized a year that encompasses plentiful learning opportunities along with the opportunity to broaden my understanding of global health issues and see a diverse range of medical conditions and treatment settings. In the middle of this year from late May till early October I have an opportunity to make this a reality and will be making three stops including; Peru/Brazil for tropical and remote volunteer medicine, Nice for Pediatric surgery and then  Malaysia for general medicine in one of the worlds most under resourced areas.

In order to make this dream a reality I'm aiming to fund raise $15,000 AUD and it is here that I would ask for your help, in whatever form you may be able to assist from flights, vaccines, donations - every contribution counts. I'm hoping that in raising this sum I'll then be able to not only fund my basic expenses but also leave Project Amazonas with a generous donation to facilitate their ongoing servicing of remote villages where medical care has previously been non existent.
